  • Overview

     

    In the Accounts Payable – Metals position you are responsible for the weekly and monthly approval and reconciliation of metal invoices.  Your work is highly visible as it is a critical step in Treasury’s weekly metals forecast to our headquarters in Milan, Italy. In your new position you will frequently interact and work cross functionally with plant controllers, purchasing, treasury, and external vendors. Additionally, you will reconcile the pricing on invoices, reconcile third-party and intercompany payable accounts, and perform month-end journal entries.

    Responsibilities

    • Own the weekly and monthly processes as they relate to metal invoicing
    • Ability to process a large volume of metal invoices daily
    • Monthly reconciliation of vendor payable accounts
    • Record journal entries in support of corporate and plant level metals accounting
    • Ability to forecast payables for metals that have been received but not yet vouchered
    • Work closely with Corporate Metals Accounting to ensure the proper valuation of metals inventory companywide
    • Information provided to Corporate Metals Accounting is used in financial statement preparation and needs to be provided on a strict deadline with a high degree of accuracy

    Qualifications

      • Highly motivated individual with tremendous attention to detail
      • Ability to prioritize tasks based on strict deadlines
      • Advanced in Microsoft Excel
      • Must be able to work independently based on general policy guidelines with little supervision
      • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
      • Good written and oral skills with the ability to explain complex processes to people with no prior knowledge
      • Ability to identify processes in which there are opportunities for improvement

       

      Education:

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field

       

      Experience

      • 3-5 years of general accounting experience required
      • 5-7 years of general accounting experience preferred
