    As the Commodity Manager your new role will be highly visible in an important market to the company. This position will report to the Head of Procurement for Raw Materials and will be based in Highland Heights, KY.  This position will be responsible for managing all North American compound-ingredients spend activities, local and sector monthly management reporting, material trend analysis, continuous improvement process (CIP) projects analysis and supply base negotiations.  This is a highly visible position within the organization globally.

     You will be responsible for working across multiple work teams to include operations, business units, vendors, and suppliers in order to prepare proposals, quotes, and agreements that create savings for the business.  You new position will also apply continuous improvement methods to reduce the overall costs of the commodities you support.  You’ll use your ability to prepare and analyze data in order to create a case for savings.


    • Develops, implements, and maintains a commodity strategy that supports the company's global compound strategy while providing market advantages
    • Ensure year-to-year, bottom-line material and product cost improvements for assigned commodity/spend category
    • Lead cross-functional efforts to reduce costs, standardize raw materials and adapt new supplier technologies
    • Responsible for developing, implementing and enforcing supplier performance metrics utilizing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
    • Maintain, evaluate and analyse market trends, report key material trends
    • Lead key vendor/supplier negotiations
    • Assist with the annual budget in forecasting material(s) cost


    • Energetic, motivated and possess strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills
    • Excellent problem solving  and category management skills
    • Bachelor degree in Business, Finance or Supply Chain Management is required
    • Minimum of 5 - 8 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management
    • Experience in a manufacturing industry
    • Ability to work independently or in a team
    • Strong project management/leadership skills
    • Strong negotiation skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong sense of urgency
    • Strong computer skills with emphasis in SAP, Excel and Office tools
    • 3-5 years of procurement or sourcing experience
    • Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred
    • A chemical/polyolefin sourcing background would be a strong plus
    • Professional certification (such as C.P.M., CPSM, CPIM) a plus
