    Reports to the Lapointe Material manager, the Material Coordinator (raw materials) is responsible of all the administrative tasks related to the raw materials needed to produce the aluminum rod requested by our customers. The jobholder is also responsible of the continuous improvement of the reception process of raw materials, services and other equipment received at Lapointe. He also supports all Lapointe departments in order to achieve business goals.


    1. On a daily basis, gather all aluminum bill of lading from the furnaces operators, compare metal grade received versus entered into various business software or web based tool.
    2. Release purchase orders for alloying ingredients (copper, magnesium, iron, manganese, chromium, silicon, titanium, boron, etc), molten metal and remelt materials in accordance to the Material manager requests, within the appropriate business systems;
    3. Receive molten aluminum, remelt materials and alloying ingredients into the appropriate business systems;
    4. Perform monthly physical counts of remelt materials, alloying ingredients and finish goods products;
    5. Investigate all gaps between physical and system inventory with the appropriate department. Perform the required changes in the appropriate business systems;
    6. Complete the final adjustments of physical counts in financial system
    7. Perform weekly physical counts of store room parts and perform the adjustments required into the appropriate business system;
    8. In collaboration with the Plant engineer and maintenance planner, review min/max for store room parts;
    9. Create new store room parts when required by the Plant engineer and approved by the Plant Controller.
    10. In collaboration with the shipping and receiving crew, perform all metal and external services receptions into the system once the work orders are done. Communicate with the corporate account payable department for any discrepancies into the reception process;


    -      Technical College or Bachelor degree in administration or supply chain.

    -      2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

    -      Strong database background, comfortable with a variety of software systems

    -      Proven ability to work in a team setting

    -      High attention to details and ability to manage multiple tasks

    -      Good written and oral communication skills in both official languages (French/English)

    -      Ability to motivate, communicate and lead continuous improvement
