  • Overview

    Warehouse Manager at a regional distribution center for a global corporation and leading company in the elevator industry. This position is responsible for all aspects of day-to-day operations in the warehouse, and would manage a team of 7-9 warehouse employees. This job has many responsibilities including: shipping & receiving, coordinating freight pickups, scheduling local deliveries, will-call customer service, ensuring safe environment, work scheduling, enforcing policies, continual improvement of KPIs, training of employees, stock accuracy, and other general warehouse duties. We are a busy operation, but workload is reasonable. Occasional customer interaction is required, so must be well spoken and presentable.

    Responsibilities

    Leadership -

    • Motivate, direct, and lead workforce in the fulfillment of company objectives
    • Communicate effectively, both written and verbally, to all levels in the organization.

     

    Operational Supervision -

    • Supervise warehouse operations ensuring efficiency, on-time shipments, quality, and a safe working environment.
    • Maintain accurate inventory by organizing storage area, conducting physical counts and reconciling variances.

    Cost Management -

    • Monitor employee work schedules to minimize costs and meet business financial goals.
    • Identify, evaluate, and capitalize on opportunities to reduce distribution costs.
    • Support scrap and cost reduction programs

    People Management -

    • Select, coach, counsel, and develop employees
    • Establish and communicate goals and objectives to warehouse employees and measure key performance indicators.
    • Assess and assist in upgrading the skills of employees to meet current and future demands from the workforce.

    Qualifications

    KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Thorough understanding of warehousing and logistics
    • 2 years+ of operational experience in a leadership role
    • Hard working
    • Desire for constant improvement
    • Team player

    COMPETENCIES - DESIRED:

    • Experience with SAP
    • Experience in Elevator or Electrical (or related) industries
    • Speaks Spanish
