    General Cable Industries Inc. is seeking highly motivated and experienced Design Engineer - Industrial Specialty Wire to join our team in Highland Heights, Kentucky.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare and obtain quotations for harness products.
    • Transfer engineering information to appropriate quotation, order processing and manufacturing systems.
    • Support Sales and Marketing on new business opportunities by advising on technical content and specifications.
    • Work with customers to understand and document product requirements and associated test requirements.
    • Prepare product specifications and drawings when required.
    • Participate in Quality reviews.
    • Identify and evaluate cost savings and product improvement ideas.

    Qualifications

    • Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or the foreign degree equivalent, and two years of relevant experience. In the alternative, will also accept an Associate’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or the foreign degree equivalent, and three years of relevant work experience.
    • Travel required: 10% travel required to Mexico

     Academic or work experience must have included:

    • AutoCAD or other design software
    • ERP or ISO quality systems
    • Knowledge of electrical systems and wire termination methods
    • Experience with reading and interpreting technical documents to determine manufacturing feasibility and testing requirements
    • Experience with quantitative problem solving
