  • Overview

    Monitoring and filling raw materials for the Blending process in the BUSS Operation.

    Shift:  7:00pm - 7:00am, Monday - Thursday

    PAY RATE:  $17.12 to start + shift differential   

    Pay increases every 4 months during 1st year on the job!


    1. Loading minor batches for all 3 lines as needed insuring the exact ratio per the HMI screen.
    2. Loading all appropriate resin in the correct cleanroom to maintain a full resin system for supplying the extruders. Entering all resin into the RM81 system to relieve inventories properly.
    3. Using a forklift, retrieving raw materials from the warehouse to use in the blending area. Inputting raw material data retrieved for use into the RM-81.
    4. Performing clean-outs on all related feeders during scheduled clean-outs. Performing any other tasks pertaining to clean-outs as instructed by the Control Room Operator.
    5. Observing the complete blending area to insure proper operation of the equipment.
    6. Communicating with the Control Room (CR) by radio to inform CR of any problems. Ability to follow instructions provided by the CR Operator to resolve problems.
    7. Following all procedures in the Plant Operations Manual specific to the Blending process.
    8. Maintaining integrity and cleanliness of the work area through the principles of 5S.
    9. Participating in Lean Team and Lean initiatives.  


    • HS Diploma / GED or equivalent
    • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment including experience in sanitation, janitorial and/or custodial duties
    • Ability to read and perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers, fractions, and decimals).
    • Ability to work without direct supervision
    • Ability to utilize sound judgment to plan, manage time, and prioritize activities
    • Forklift experience a plus and/or the ability to be trained

    Work Environment/Physical Demands: 

    • Must be able to lift loads of 50 lbs., and physically traverse throughout the multi-level facility.
    • Job includes exposure to physical hazards associated with the maintenance and operating of major production and Plant service equipment and exposure to the raw materials and service-related chemicals used at General Cable.
    • Job involves limited exposure to high noise areas requiring the use of personal protection.
