    The position will report the Manufacturing Manager The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible to facilitate process improvement teams utilizing Lean and Six Sigma tools to identify waste within processes and improve processes to remove waste and drive efficiency for our facility, execute cost savings strategies, review the design of product components and parts and recommend design changes that will facilitate product manufacturing, reduce costs, exploit the advantages of new materials, etc

    Responsibilities

    • Lead or participate in continuous improvement events
    • Work with subject matter experts to understand and solve problems to implement solutions
    • Participate in Root Cause Analysis to develop verified solutions
    • Effectively communicate data, results, and action plans
    • Create and report out multiple weekly status reports
    • Identifies opportunities for improvement through review of plants key performance indicators (Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery)
    • Drives collaboration among other functions and teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Production Control
    • Engage the plant workforce and drive a culture of continuous improvement for everyone
    • Investigate and analyze production information systems, production methods, processes and operations to determine manufacturing modifications that will increase production efficiency, reduce costs and eliminate waste
    • Observe and analyze high scrap or rework operation to determine causes. Advise concerned personnel of the results and recommend solutions to problems
    • Compile pertinent cost, manpower efficiency, machine capability, space utilization, material handling, etc. information to support new manufacturing methods or modification recommendations
    • Conduct studies to prepare and recommend new and revised operating procedures to maintain control, improve operations, and facilitate processing
    • Analyze, recommend and justify tooling requirements/improvements for production lines

    Qualifications

    • Fluent English skills
    • Project management and problem-solving skills
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Excellent analytical ability and able to identify key opportunities
    • Results driver on tasks with deadlines
    • High sense of urgency and good attention to detail
    • Proven experience in Lean Manufacturing
    • Ability to multi-task and work with plant engineers, plant associates, engineering team and corporate Procurement
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
    • Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing experience is a plus.

    Preferred:

    • Previous experience in an industrial process oriented manufacturing environment, preferably in the wire harness industry.

    Work Environment/Physical Demands:

    • Environment at a production plant
