    Reporting to the HRBP/Director of HR-Operations, the Senior Human Resource Business Partner is responsible for managing and overseeing all HR related activities over a facility.  The Senior HRBP guides effective and efficient implementation of HR best practices including labor and employee relations, regulatory compliance, performance management, talent management, staffing, succession planning, communications, compensation and benefit administration.  The Senior HRBP partners with plant leadership to deliver a high performance culture, promoting ownership, goal attainment and continuous learning and improvement at all levels of the plant.

    Responsibilities

    • Partner with Operations leadership on business strategy and provide strategic HR coaching. Advise and mentor leaders on employee relations, leadership and conflict management that ensure strong alignment with our Values and Culture.
    • Manage, develop, lead and support HRBP and HR Coordinator.
    • Ensure the organizational structure supports the strategic objectives of the facility.
    • Work with the leadership team to develop, support, evaluate and standardize programs, processes and policies that ensure our safety culture is embraced and lived by all associates.
    • Responsible for developing communications strategy that includes formal meetings, informal small group meetings, focus groups, surveys, etc. to be implemented by the plant HRBP
    • Demonstrate change leadership by understanding the desired outcomes, effectively involving, managing and communicating with those impacted by change and mitigating the barriers to change. 
    • Define and build the organization’s capabilities by identifying the talent needs of the business and assist managers with development of the next generation leaders. Determine best practices to support organizational direction.
    • Perform compensation review for hourly and salaried employees.  Continuously review wages, grades and bands for salaried employees  and do recommendations in order to balance talent retention and plant competitiveness
    • Serve as a credible advocate representing the needs of stakeholders and ensure/measure alignment around business results.
    • Design strategy to close gaps between current state of employee engagement and the desired state.
    • Innovate and integrate HR practices around critical business needs.
    • Identify and implement ways to eliminate or streamline non-value-adding work both within region and across regions.
    • Oversee implementation of new corporate HR systems / service rollout.
    • Ensures General Cable values are promulgated and lived by all associates.
    • Oversee HR issues involving legal and financial risk to organization.
    • Ensure application of corporate and local human resource procedures, practices and initiatives in compliance with all laws and regulations. 
    • Negotiate labor agreements and manage grievance process as needed.
    • Conduct investigations and corresponding discipline depending on level of risk.
    • Track and report on relevant HR metrics.

    Qualifications

    • Must have strong experience or have the ability in leading HR in a large manufacturing environment.
    • Results and metrics driven with the ability to work in a high performance-manufacturing environment.
    • Able to understand organizational strategy while advancing operational goals. This includes having a good understanding of business principles and practices and the ability to apply them.
    • Ability to lead complex change and transformation efforts and manage multiple, complex tasks with attention to detail. This includes excellent ability to motivate and communicate with diplomacy to facilitate positive outcomes.
    • Trusted advisor with an ability to coach, mentor and guide managers around people and business issues.
    • Ability to motivate, communicate and lead continuous improvement of HRBP delivery.
    • Strong team player with the ability to establish rapport with all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to create human resource solutions with a bottom line result.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of labor and employee relations including federal and state laws, regulations, principles and practices related to employee conduct, performance and dispute resolution to protect the business from potential liabilities.
    • Familiarity with Six Sigma, lean manufacturing techniques.
    • Experience with planning and executing the administrative side of HR and data management software.
    • Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills.
    • BS/BA degree in Human Resource Management, Business or related field required. SPHR Certification preferred.
    • At a minimum of 5 to 7 years of Human Resource generalist experience in a demanding manufacturing environment. 
    • Ability to work in a team based environment, with a proven track record of leading and managing teams.
    • Demonstrated success with organizational change activities.
    • Proven success in talent management and building competencies/ capabilities at all levels of the facility.
    • Experience in labor and employee relations preferred
    • Working knowledge of federal laws including employment and labor laws and success with developing core HR policies around both labor and employee relations.
