  • Overview

    Reporting to the Distribution Center Manager, the DC Coordinator is responsible for supervising all activities of the Shipping Department, assuring the efficient utilization of equipment and manpower to meet delivery schedules and produce a high quality product. The DC Coordinator must also maintain accurate inventory records as well as the timely shipment of finished product to ensure customer satisfaction. 

    Responsibilities

    • Leads and develops a safety culture for zero accidents
    • Supervises associates, instructing and training them in proper methods of performing job functions
    • Maintain accountability of shipping associates to ensure tasks are completed on time and at a high level of quality
    • Maintain accuracy of finished goods inventory
    • Build truck loads based upon customer demands and geographical locations
    • Daily communication between sales, supply chain and freight carriers
    • Process all paperwork associated with above described duties

    Qualifications

    • Must have a safety focused mindset
    • Results driven; demonstrated ability in a high performance mfg. environment
    • Proven working knowledge of Shipping and Receiving Department practices
    • Demonstrated attention to details, but must be able to manage the big picture
    • Must be able to manage multiple, complex tasks and deal easily with pressure
    • Must be able to motivate, communicate and drive continuous improvement
    • Critical thinker, with excellent analytical abilities
    • Good written and oral communication skills
    • Solid planning, leadership, and administrative skills
    • High energy, demonstrates urgency and fast pace
    • Supervisory experience and have knowledge of material handling equipment
    • Must be able to utilize computer systems (ERP, Excel, Word, etc.) to effectively plan and analyze performance
    • BA/BS degree in Engineering or Business is preferred
    • Lean Certification and/or Safety Certification preferred
    • 3 – 4 years of supervision experience in a Shipping or Receiving Department
    • Proficient utilization of Lean tools such as 5-S, Process Flow, Kanban, etc.
    • Practical experience with driving safety and an operator lead work environment within a production environment
