    General Cable Corporation, a leading wire & cable manufacturer conveniently located in Manchester, NH has an immediate opening for a Machine Operator on 2nd shift. Machine Operators are responsible for continuously monitoring and maintaining product quality based on established standards including visual and mechanical inspection of product, as well as work in a safe manner at all times following all safety policies and procedures.

    Responsibilities

    • Performing setups in accordance with established procedure, operating, and loading/unloading equipment.
    • Work from written and verbal instructions, procedures and work orders are also required.
    • Additional responsibilities include: Maintaining and logging all information required supporting traceability and quality, participating in cross-training activities, maintaining work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition, and performing other duties as required or directed.

    Qualifications

     

    • High school diploma, GED
    • 2 year manufacturing machine operation requirement
    • Prior extrusion experience preferred
    • Prior manufacturing experience with the ability to prioritize and pay close attention to detail
    • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, stooping, and bending is required
    • Must be able to work independently and distinguish colors
    • Must be able to use and read a micrometer
    • The ability to demonstrate your mechanical and computer skills
    • Must have good English skills in reading, writing and communicating
    • Must be able to work in a team environment and to work overtime as the need arises
    • Wire drawing/extrusion/cabling experience a plus
    • Must be able to pass background check and drug test
