  • Overview

    The Engineering Manager has responsibility for the coordination and implementation of process improvement initiatives to support a manufacturing facility with an operating annual budget of approximately 120 million. This position directly supervises 4 process engineers

    Responsibilities

    • Identifies targets and prioritizes opportunities for process improvements; creates and coordinates systems, projects and activities to capture these improvements.
    • Initiates material usage improvements and material cost reductions/substitutions throughout the manufacturing process.
    • Studies and analyzes plant needs for new or upgraded equipment in support of the Business Plan.
    • Conducts audits of completed projects to ensure that process improvement objectives were met or exceeded.
    • Prepare and update annually a strategic plan for the development and application of new technologies consistent with the Business Strategy.
    • Develops and implements annual capital budget plan.
    • Utilizes lean/six-sigma tools to maximize effectiveness of manufacturing processes and process improvements.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • A results driven individual who has demonstrated ability creating and working in a high performance-manufacturing environment.      
    • Demonstrate leadership and people skills, leading a winning team of process engineers
    • Must be able to effectively manage multiple, complex tasks with excellent attention to detail.
    • Must be able to motivate, communicate and drive continuous improvement initiatives
    • Critical thinker, with excellent analytical abilities
    • Solid planning, leadership, project management and administrative skills
    • Demonstrated knowledge of lean/six-sigma tools
    • BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Production, Industrial or related engineering .
    • 7-10 years’ experience in Engineering Management
    • Demonstrated Project Management experience
